Two kilometers from the southern entrance (Entrance 2) to the national park, is located the Vučnica bistro, overlooking a small ski resort and the beautiful nature that surrounds it. Bistro Vučnica offers visitors homemade sausages, pizzas, burgers and desserts such as basa cake.

Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest national park in the Republic of Croatia. The park is situated in the mountainous region of Croatia, between the Mala Kapela mountain range in the west and northwest, and the Lička Plješivica mountain range to the southeast. Administratively, the park falls within two counties: Lika-Senj (90.7%) and Karlovac (9.3%).

The park is primarily covered in forest vegetation, with smaller areas under grasslands. The most attractive part of the park – the lakes – cover just under 1% of the total park area.The lake system is comprised of 16 named and several smaller unnamed lakes, cascading one into the next. The Plitvice Lakes National Park offers visitors eight different routes to tour the lake system, and four hiking trails. CHECK OUT SIGHTSEEING PROGRAMS

Objava PLITVICE FULL EXPERIENCE – mobile app pojavila se prvi puta na Nacionalni park "Plitvička jezera".

The tracing is carried out to determine the flow velocity and to determine the hydrodynamic conditions prevailing in the lake system. The methodology involves the release of the tracer (dye) into the Matica river and monitoring its movement through all lakes in the system. The used tracer, Na-Fluorescein, is a powdery chemical that will cause the lakes to change the color to fluorescent green.

Please note that the tracer (dye) is completely harmless to aquatic ecosystems. The expected time for the tracer to run out of the lake system is about a week.

Parts of Canyon of the Lower Lakes shall be periodically closed for visitation on Thursday, June 29th

between 8.00  A.M. till 18.00 P.M. due the removing and cleaning of possible dangerous fractured rocks mass which can compromise the visitor’s safety.

Objava Temporary sightseeing tours regulation 29 June 2017th pojavila se prvi puta na Nacionalni park "Plitvička jezera".

Tourism Services Act (Official Gazette no: 68/07, 88/10, 30/14, 89/14 i 152/14) – Art. 16, Paragraph 2 states: “A travel agency shall hire a tourist guide for visits to a particular site (location), who is accredited for the provision of tourist guide services for the respective site (location), or else, hire a person described in Article 26, Paragraph 8 herein”.

Rulebook on the Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications in tourism (Official Gazette no: 7/16):

“Tourist guide and tour escort services may not be performed by foreign citizens from the EU member states, unless they have obtained a license from the Ministry of Tourism of Croatia.  Citizens of countries other than the EU are not allowed to be licensed by the Croatian Ministry of Tourism according to the laws of Croatia, and therefore shall not be able to provide tourist guide or tour escort services in the Republic of Croatia”.
