Dear Sir or Madam,

with an aim to be in line with the effective laws and regulations of the Republic of Croatia and the Rulebook on the Internal Order of Plitvice Lakes National Park (Official Gazette no. 38/96), and in order to preserve and protect the Park’s natural wealth and cultural heritage, all groups entering the Plitvice Lakes National Park have an obligation to hire either a tourist guide, a tour escort  or an employee of the Public Institution ‘Plitvice Lakes National Park’ who is an accredited professional guide in the Park.

Tourism Services Act (Official Gazette no: 68/07, 88/10, 30/14, 89/14 i 152/14) – Art. 16, Paragraph 2 states: “A travel agency shall hire a tourist guide for visits to a particular site (location), who is accredited for the provision of tourist guide services for the respective site (location), or else, hire a person described in Article 26, Paragraph 8 herein”.

Rulebook on the Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications in tourism (Official Gazette no: 7/16):

“Tourist guide and tour escort services may not be performed by foreign citizens from the EU member states, unless they have obtained a license from the Ministry of Tourism of Croatia.  Citizens of countries other than the EU are not allowed to be licensed by the Croatian Ministry of Tourism according to the laws of Croatia, and therefore shall not be able to provide tourist guide or tour escort services in the Republic of Croatia”.

In order to protect and safeguard the natural and cultural heritage and abide by the laws and regulations of Croatia, we are kindly asking you to follow the above instructions.
