As an integral part of scientific research for Autumn 2019 And Spring 2020, the implementation of surface water tracing in the lake system of the National park is planned on September 23, 2019.
The tracing is carried out to determine the flow velocity and to determine the hydrodynamic conditions prevailing in the lake system. The methodology involves the release of the tracer (dye) into the Matica river and monitoring its movement through all lakes in the system. The used tracer, Na-Fluorescein, is a powdery chemical that will cause the lakes to change the color to fluorescent green.
Please note that the tracer (dye) is completely harmless to aquatic ecosystems. The expected time for the tracer to run out of the lake system is about a week.
