LAKE TOUR PROGRAMS

To facilitate movement through the lake zone, visitors entering the park at Entrance 1 can choose between four routes, marked in green on the info panels. The four routes beginning at Entrance 2 are marked in orange.

Visitors may also ride on the electric boats (Kozjak Lake) and a panoramic vehicle, by presenting their valid park entrance ticket.

A PROGRAM

  • Duration – 2 to 3 hours
  • Trail length – 3 500 m

Starts at the north entrance (Entrance 1). The tour is circular and provides an opportunity to admire the „Great Waterfall“ – the largest fall of the Plitvice Lakes and in Croatia. The path leads on upstream, through the „Lower Lakes“ canyon, along the lakes „Novakovića brod”, “Kaluđerovac”, “Gavanovac” and “Milanovac”, to a point at „Kozjak Bridge“ where the trail begins to ascend towards the eastern side of the canyon. From this part, you return to the starting point (Entrance 1).

B PROGRAM

  • Duration – 3 to 4 hours
  • Trail length – 4 000 m

Starting point is at the north entrance of the park (Entrance 1). Sightseeing is circular, and includes a walk through the limestone canyon of the “Lower Lakes”, an electric-boat ride across the largest of the Plitvice lakes – Lake “Kozjak”, a panoramic vehicle ride, and a walk along the top of the canyon’s east side all the way back to starting point at “Entrance 1”. You will also see the impressive “Great Waterfall” and the “Sastavci” waterfalls, the beautiful dark blue lakes of “Novakovića Brod”, “Kaluđerovac”, “Gavanovac” and “Milanovac”, as well as the vastness of Lake Kozjak.

C PROGRAM 

  • Duration – 4 to 5 hours
  • Trail length – 8 000 m

Starting point is at the north entrance of the park (Entrance 1). Sightseeing is circular and includes the Lower and Upper Lakes area, and a combination of walks and electric-boat rides, while the return to starting point will be mostly by panoramic vehicle. Enjoy the beauty of the largest and most attractive waterfalls (“Great Waterfall”, “Veliki Prštavac” and “Mali Prštavac”), and countless smaller waterfalls, as well as the lakes.

E PROGRAM 

  • Duration – 2 to 3 hours
  • Trail length – 5 100 m

Starts at the south entrance (Entrance 2). The tour is circular and explores the „Upper Lakes“ section. The tour includes a short boat ride accross the „Kozjak Lake“, followed by a walk upstream, all the way to „Lake Prošćansko“. There’s a sightseeing train to return to the starting point. Experience the magic tranquility and vastness of the „Upper Lakes“ with their wooded shores and admirable „Great and Small Prštavci“ falls, as well as countless smaller waterfalls.

F PROGRAM

  • Duration – 3 to 4 hours
  • Trail length – 4 600 m

Starting point is at the south entrance of the Park (Entrance 2). After a short walk and electric-boat ride across Lake Kozjak, the tour will take you on a walk through the limestone canyon of the Lower Lakes all the way to the “Great Waterfall”. From the “Great Waterfall” to the panoramic vehicle station there is a steep serpentine leading to the east side of the canyon, where there are numerous viewpoints offering spectacular views of the crystal-clear, dark blue lakes and adjoining high cliffs. Return to the starting point by panoramic vehicle. Sightseeing is circular.

H PROGRAM 

  • Duration – 4 to 6 hours
  • Trail length – 8 900 m

Starting point is at the south entrance of the Park (Entrance 2). After a short walk and panoramic vehicle ride, you will continue on foot along the Upper Lakes, take a boat ride across Lake Kozjak, and walk through the Lower Lakes canyon all the way to the “Great Waterfall”, along the top of the canyon’s east side, and again take a ride on the panoramic vehicle. This circular program gives you the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Park’s entire lake area.

K1 PROGRAM 

  • Duration – 6 to 8 hours
  • Trail length – 18 300 m

Starting at the northern entrance (“Entrance 1”), the program will take you on a tour of a large part of the Plitvice Lakes on foot. It includes a tour of the Great Waterfall, a walk through the Lower Lakes canyon and along the western shore of the Kozjak Lake, followed by a walk past Prštavci – the largest and most stunning Upper Lakes waterfall. On the way back, you will enjoy a walk along the beautiful Upper Lakes and a short boat ride will take you to the eastern shore of the Kozjak Lake. The program continues with a walk along the upper part of the eastern side of the Lower Lakes canyon, taking you back to the “Entrance 1” starting point.

K2 PROGRAM 

  • Duration – 6 to 8 hours
  • Trail length – 18 300 m

Starting at the southern entrance (“Entrance 2”), the program will take you on a tour of a large part of the Plitvice Lakes on foot. It includes a walk along the eastern shore of the Kozjak Lake, followed by a walk along the upper part of the eastern side of the Lower Lakes canyon, taking you all the way to the Great Waterfall. The walk continues upstream through the canyon and along the western shore of the Kozjak Lake, after which a pathway will lead you to Prštavci – the largest and most stunning Upper Lakes waterfall. On the way back, you will enjoy a walk along the rest of the Upper Lakes, followed by a short boat ride across the Kozjak Lake and arrival to the “Entrance 2” starting point.
