Urednik Expert service news

The peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus) is an elegant hunter with very keen eyesight, sharp talons and a deadly beak. It feeds mainly on birds, but also hunts small mammals, reptiles and amphibians, and occasionally insects. The species is found in open habitats, and nests on high, inaccessible cliffs and trees.

It is a Natura 2000 target species for the area of Plitvice Lakes National Park. The Professional Service Department has been monitoring the condition and size of this species in the Park area for many years. It is believed that only one pair lives within the Park area.
