In 2013, the United Nations proclaimed 3 March as World Wildlife Day, making it a day on which we celebrate wildlife and overall biodiversity that make our planet so special. The goal of educating the public on the importance of preserving and protecting all species on Earth is to raise awareness of each individual on the meaning of safeguarding every species as an indispensable link in the chain of overall biodiversity.
Every year, 3 March is celebrated as World Wildlife Day to raise awareness about the importance and the inseparable links between all life on Earth.
The 2024 World Wildlife Day theme is Connecting People and Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation.
Our modern society is a society of constant technological progress, but it is also very dependent on technology. Technology has made it possible for people to exploit and destroy nature and biodiversity like never before. On the other hand, the development of technology and a shift in consciousness have made it possible for experts to use technology for wildlife research and monitoring, as well as protection and conservation, contributing to the protection of the very coexistence of humans and wildlife.
Plitvice Lakes National Park will mark this important date with a presentation on wildlife species living in the park. A special presentation booth will be set up at Entrance 1, on 3 March 2024.
