Did you know that the Cultural Arts Society “Izvor” from Rakovica, founded back in 1978, aims to nurture and promote the cultural heritage of the Rakovica-Drežnik region throughout the Homeland and beyond? They have always endeavored to present their rich heritage both in Croatia and abroad.
Throughout its existence, the Cultural and Artistic Society “Izvor” has had the honor of performing at prestigious events such as Vinkovačke Jeseni, Brodsko Kolo, Đakovački Vezovi, Miholjačko Sijelo, the festival in Voloder, Repušnica, Otočac, as well as at gatherings of returning societies in Stara Gradiška and Okučani, and at all County folklore festivals in Ogulin. Their art knows no boundaries, and they have enchanted audiences with captivating performances of traditional dances, songs, and customs, not only within Croatia but also beyond its borders. They have had the opportunity to perform in Italy, Slovenia, Germany, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and they have numerous notable appearances in the media, including participation in the filming of a documentary about Plitvice Lakes and its surroundings for the German television channel ARD, among many others.
This year’s performance of the Cultural Arts Society “Izvor” as part of the Cultural Heritage Summer will take place on August 10, 2023., in Kozjačka Draga, at Pier P3, in the Plitvice Lakes National Park, starting at 5 PM. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the rich folk tradition of this region.
