With pleasure, we introduce to you the Cultural Art Society “Lipa” Sinac, a true gem of our homeland. “Lipa” is more than just a society – it is a guardian of tradition and the soul of Sinac, a spokesperson for its history and identity.

Rooted in the exclusive realm of tambourine music, “Lipa” is not only a performer of melodies but also a keeper of the spirit of the Gacka Valley and Like. They proudly nurture song, dance, and speech deeply embedded in local heritage. This invaluable collective carries its own story – a story of connection to family, faith, and patriotism.

Throughout a century of existence, “Lipa” has witnessed numerous challenges and migrations, yet their dedication remains unwavering. They believe in the power their work leaves behind and in the significance of the heritage they carry with them wherever they go. Established in 1923 along the banks of the Gacka River, the society was initially named the Croatian Tambourine Choir “Lipa” Sinac. Their role as representatives of the Like region comes to the forefront through their performances at national folk festivals like the Vinkovci Autumns. Through various events, “Lipa” has added to the splendor of traditional costumes, even winning several awards for the most beautiful girl and boy in traditional attire.

Their artistry has not gone unnoticed. In 1985, they recorded their first sound carrier titled “CENTURY-OLD SONGS FROM GACKA IN LIKE”. Their music has been recognized through media platforms such as the “OUR BEAUTIFUL” program, as well as the “AND NOW US” and “Good Morning Croatia” broadcasts on Croatian Radio. Their concert “LIKE AND VELEBIT COAST IN LISINSKI” in Zagreb garnered particular acclaim.

Their art knows no boundaries. They have performed across Europe. Additionally, their collaboration with the Burgenland Croats on the pilgrimage “IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF OUR ANCESTORS” illuminated the importance of preserving cultural connections. And finally, their native dialect, “čakavština,” sets them apart. “Lipa” is not merely a musical society; it is a living witness to time and culture, passing down heritage from one generation to the next.

This year, the Cultural Art Society “Lipa” Sinac celebrates a centennial jubilee – 100 years of dedicated work and legacy. May their story and music continue to resonate, reminding us of the significance of tradition and identity.

This year’s performance of the Cultural Artistic Society “Lipa” Sinac as part of the Cultural Heritage Summer will have two shows.
