PLITVIČKI VJESNIK

Urednik Uncategorized

Plitvički vjesnik (Plitvice Gazette) was the name of the official newspaper of the Plitvice Lakes National Park that was published from 1973 to 1997. The largest number of issues were published in the period from 1973 to 1991, namely 143 issues, while in the period from 1995 to 1997, only three issues were issued, which is understandable taking into consideration the circumstances brought on by the war.

Considering that the Plitvice Lakes National Park was, in the pre-war period, an extremely large company which engaged in a wide range of activities (tourism, agriculture, production, etc.), there was a need to make sure that the workers are informed about events in the company since there was no internet, Facebook and other forms of communication that we use today. The paper was published monthly or bimonthly, and in it one could find news relating to all the activities of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, as well as information about social life, various critical articles, and plans for the future.
